00 About the practice

You’ll leave knowing exactly how to lead your first senior year.

Zephyr Ledger began with one belief that hasn’t moved since: the leap from managing the work to leading the leaders shouldn’t be something people figure out alone, in the dark, on the job. So we built a practice that walks that stretch with you — steady, honest, and yours.

01 How we got here

A coaching practice built by people who ran the teams first.

2019
The first office on Captains Cv

Marisol Kettering had watched it happen too many times. A brilliant manager gets the promotion they’ve earned — director, VP, a seat at the table — and then spends the next six months quietly translating skills that no longer fit the room. Nobody handed them a map. Most of them white-knuckled it and called that leadership.

So in 2019 she opened a small office on the cove in New Bern and started coaching the people she wished she’d had beside her when she was running operations for a coastal logistics group. Word travelled the way good word does — one steadied VP telling another.

Today Zephyr Ledger is still a small bench on purpose. Devon joined to run our feedback work with the honesty it deserves; Priya came to design offsites that actually end in commitments people keep. We stay small because the work is personal, and because you should always know the name of the person reading your 360° back to you.

We’re not a franchise, a platform, or a roster you get shuffled through. We’re a handful of coaches who’ve sat in the chair you’re stepping into — and we’d be glad to sit beside you for the next stretch of it.

02 What we hold to

Four things we won’t trade, no matter how the work shifts.

Values only count when they cost something. These are the ones we’ve turned business away over.

01

The coach you meet is the coach you keep

Whoever answers your discovery call runs your whole engagement — every session, every read-out. No handoffs to a junior name you never spoke to, no pooled roster, no cold reassignments halfway through.

02

Plain prices, plain scopes

Fixed engagements with a clear finish line and a number you can put in a budget line. If a scope grows, we tell you before it does — never after the invoice.

03

The hard theme lands gently

Feedback isn’t useful if it wounds. We read the difficult signal back to you warmly and directly, so you leave with a next move rather than something to nurse.

04

Confidential means confidential

What your peers tell us stays anonymous. What you tell us stays between us. Nothing goes to your company unless you decide, together with us, that it should.

03 How the work feels

What a good engagement with us actually feels like from the inside.

Because “executive coaching” means twelve different things — here’s what it means when it’s us.

— steady

You always know which step you’re on

Discovery call, baseline 360°, a coaching cadence, a mid-point review, a clean close. No mystery in the middle, no wondering where this is going.

— practical

We work on this week, not the abstract

The tense one-on-one on Thursday, the reorg you’re dreading, the board update. We coach against real events on your calendar, then build the habit underneath them.

— reachable

Support between the sessions

The week doesn’t wait for your next appointment. On the 1:1 engagement you’ve got text access when something lands and you need a second read before you respond.

— honest

We’ll tell you if we’re not the fit

The discovery call is free and genuinely no-pressure. If your situation calls for something we don’t do, we’ll say so — and point you somewhere better.

04 The bench

Three coaches, each with a chair they’ve already sat in.

We’ll pair you with whoever fits the work you’re bringing — you meet them on the discovery call, before anything’s signed.

Founder & Lead Coach

Ran operations for a coastal logistics group before she ever wrote a coaching plan, so the messy, high-stakes weeks don’t rattle her. At her best with first-time VPs learning to lead leaders.
